Important Leaders in the Real Estate Industry

We want to celebrate those who developed, inspired and impacted our community. Some of the leaders have had an impact on the history of the real estate industry. Their legacies inspire Memphians to make Memphis the best place it can be.

Biddy Mason

One of the first female real estate owners, Biddy Mason. Mason was born in Georgia in 1818 and during her early days she and her family moved to Southern California. In 1866, she purchased her first property working as a nurse. That was just the beginning because over the years, she bought and sold many properties. In 1891 At the time of her death, she was one of the wealthiest women in Los Angeles, California. She defied all odds and led the way for women.

Phillip A. Payton, Jr

Another powerful man in real estate who later became known as the “Father of Harlem,” Phillip A. Payton, Jr. He was born in  Massachusetts in 1876 but when he was a teenager he moved to New York City to make a better life for himself. Payton learned the real estate business while working as a porter in a real estate office. He took the risk to open up his firm, but it was unsuccessful. In 1904, he formed a new real estate firm and worked with investors to help improve housing availability for families. His dream was to make the Harlem neighborhood a political and cultural capital for African-Americans in the area and he made it even after his death.

The road being paved by so many wonderful leaders inspires the team at Memfixerupper. We  always start with the truth, and the truth is that deciding to sell is the first in a long series of decisions ahead when you’re a homeowner. Selling is expensive, time-consuming, and stressful, and if you’re aware of issues with the property or find yourself under time or financial constraints, the stress level can be immense. But we are advocates for people in need of solving their problems and helping our Memphis and surrounding communities.

Selling your house to an investor is relatively simple.

You provide him or her with information about your home and personal situation.

The investor will then inspect the home and determine a fair value, taking into account necessary repairs, and make an offer. If the offer works for you, you’ll close, and receive the payment for your house in cash… usually within 7 days if you want to close that fast.

If you need to sell your Memphis home very quickly, with little hassle, selling to a Memphis real estate investor is a great option.

Many people don’t consider the hidden costs of holding on to a property.

Extra months of mortgage payments, utilities, maintenance costs, and other fees could quickly add up. By selling at a slight discount, you could potentially end up with a larger sum in the long run. When you work with a real estate investor… there usually aren’t any fees involved, as you don’t have to worry about paying an agent commission, and most often, the investor will cover the closing costs.

Our entire team is passionate about helping Jackson Offer homeowners earn the highest possible profit while making the process as convenient as possible; you can even select your guaranteed closing day. Call Memfixerupper at 901-450-5179.
